Such devices are often very expensive because they are not yet standard on the market and can be obtained for an additional charge. These are only a few channels of cable television because the bandwidth that these channels take up is too large for an analog cable connection.

In order to be able to receive HDTV, you need an HD ready television set and special HDTV contracts, which must be concluded with the respective provider.
At the same time, care must be taken that the digital receiving device is ready for high resolution. These do not include a classic D-Box, not a simple DVB-C receiver, but an HDTV-capable receiver, such as set-top boxes.
Certain set-top boxes are often offered by the providers, so that there is usually not a large selection.
However, you can choose whether you want a set-top box with a built-in hard drive or without it.
The hard disk ensures that films can be recorded and that a second twin receiver can simultaneously watch another program on another channel.

The computer?
Instead of buying a receiver, you can also use a computer that has the necessary technical equipment. This includes above all the TV card, which makes television reception possible.

Digital TV sets?
Digital TVs are all-in-one products, which connect the TV and cable receiver in one housing and so there are not many different devices in the living room.

Time-shifted television is already known from pay TV and works like a DVD. To be able to stop and start the program when you want, you need certain technical and tariff requirements. In addition, the cable provider must support this modern technology.
